Ju = Longevity, Rō = Old, Jin = Person

Commonly shown as a very short, old man with a long white beard carrying a staff with a scroll tied to it, on which is written the life span of all living things, or a record of all the good and bad deeds committed by all beings, in other accounts, the book of knowledge.

Jurojin is a lover of wine and fond of female company.

Jurojin is a personification of the southern polar star and the immortal of the Northern Song Dynasty.
